Neuroscientific Pain Modulation is an innovative two-day course focusing on pain research and pain modulation. With citations of well over 500 scientific peer-reviewed articles, the course represents an uncompromising and comprehensive inquiry into pain research, modulation, and rehabilitation.

Course objectives and learning outcomes:

• Learn an updated approach to the treatment of pain that you can immediately apply in your clinical practice that reinforces and enhances the approach you already use

About Lars:


Lars Avemarie is a physiotherapist, writer, internationally acclaimed lecturer, teacher, personal trainer, and clinical teacher. He has conducted lectures for various organizations, including Trust me I’m a Physiotherapist, Denkfysio, PhysioTutors, Incitus, Paincloud, San Diego Pain Summit, Emory & Henry College, European School of Osteopathy, The Association of Danish Physiotherapists, Mater Dei Hospital (University of Malta), University College Absalon, Metropolitan University College, Science 2 practice, ShakeUp, Kinesio Edu, FisioScience, and Zefiro Formazione.

Currently employed full-time as a physiotherapist at Skåne University Hospital, Lars previously worked in regional rehabilitation. With over a decade of experience in the health industry, he has served as a manager and an exercise and rehab specialist at the corporate level. His expertise encompasses pain research, neuroscience, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, evidence-based medicine, science, and critical thinking.

Lars's journey into pain research began after attending a neuroscience and pain research course. He immersed himself in articles and textbooks on pain and neuroscience, delving into scientific research from international experts such as Moseley, Melzack, Wall, O’Sullivan, Deyo, Booth, Zusman, Maher, Kamper, Loeser, and Louw. Two years of reading scientific papers as a personal trainer led to sharing experiences and insights on modern pain research and science.

Having gained international recognition for disseminating information on modern pain research, Lars's articles have achieved global reach, with his first international article, "Why Most People Are Wrong About Injuries and Pain," being shared over 13,000 times on social media.
